DO you offer destination weddings?

I have photographed in New Zealand, Belize, Mexico, Haiti and Canada; nothing is too far away!  Just send me a message and I will create a custom destination package just for you.

do you travel?

I'm happy to travel anywhere love takes you; anywhere in the Twin Cities Metro area, greater Minnesota and beyond!

I only for our basic costs to be covered. Travel is calculated by the current government business mile from our Google business address. Any local Minnesota wedding over 250 miles round trip, add $250 for one night of accommodations.

do we get the copyrights?

The bride and groom receive a Lifetime Print Release as part of their collection. This allows the printing of digital images for personal use, and as distribution as gifts for friends and relatives. However, all images remain Copyright Pamela Sutton as per Copyright Law. Additional digital images, or Print Releases, can be purchased through the Photographer.

How far in advance should we book?

I only book up to one year in advance.

Can we ask aunt jane to take pictures, too?

Of course, guests are always welcome to snap photos!  However, as the professional photographer at your wedding day, designating a friend or family member to take photos alongside diminishes our ability to capture the photos you desire. I kindly ask that guests do not photograph the same poses we set up. Once your "must have" images are captured, guests are welcome to photograph as they, or you, wish.

can we see the raw unedited images?

My final selection for editing and delivery is reflective of my very high standards. Any rejected images are not archived.

how many images do we receive?

An 8 hour wedding typically results in about 400 pictures.  This depends, however, on the day itself, or if you've chosen the Second Photographer option.

can we share our photos on social media?

Absolutely!  Feel free to share your blog post, your Facebook / Instagram previews or a few of your favorite images. I always appreciate for them to be tagged @pamelasuttonphotography.

Do you offer albums?

Stay tuned!  I am currently on the hunt for a new team of designers and wedding album company I find inspiring for our 2017 wedding year. I want only the BEST for you!

I am comfortable to shoot by myself on a wedding day though I normally bring an assistant to help with gear and running small errands the day of. A second shooter may be added onto any wedding package. I have second shooters on hand who have wedding photography experience, have worked with me before, know my style, what shots to get and how to be beneficial the day of the wedding.

do you only photograph outdoors?

After 7 years of documenting in all kinds of lighting situations I've chosen to specialize outdoors.  Why?  Nothing inspires me more than the natural elements; it is where my art thrives.  However, should you have an indoor wedding venue in mind please tell me all about it; I have the back up gear to shoot inside. It's not out of the question. I simply prefer to use available light for my particular craft.

when can we expect our photos?

In about 4-6 weeks, you will receive an invitation to view your wedding images in a private online gallery. At the same time, I will Priority Mail your USB containing the wedding images and your Print Release.

can we skip the engagement session?

The benefits of our free engagement session far outweighs missing out on the opportunity. First off, it gives us a chance to learn how we work together, and allows you to become more comfortable in front of a professional camera before the big day. This results in better wedding pictures overall: a win-win for both of us! Secondly, you'll be able to use these photos for Save the Dates or as part of the decor for your wedding.  Thirdly, it gives us another excuse to grab coffee together before the shoot!  (I wasn't kidding when I said getting to know you was important to me.)

where does the engagement session take place?

I ask all my couples to choose their locations. This ensures they choose a spot that reflects their story. If you are unsure about a local location, no worries, just send me a message; I have a few favorite spots. I do suggest, however, the location be within a 10-15 mile radius of Eden Prairie center. Additional mileage may apply to locations outside of our complimentary session range.

P.S. I get pretty excited about adventurous engagement sessions; the more creative, the better!

our wedding is on a friday / off season? do you offer discounts?

Unfortunately, I already limit the number of weddings I accept a year and therefore cannot feasibly offer discounts for alternative wedding dates or off-season. You will find, however, that because your wedding isn't just another date on our calendar, you will receive the care and attention your wedding photography experience deserves.

How do you edit our photos?

All of your images are color-corrected, and given my signature look before they are delivered. However, I do a light retouching, namely on portraits of the bride and groom. I find natural beauty the most flattering so my images are not glamorized, or overly edited. Any other digital images ordered as art prints (8x12 or larger) through our website will be provided an extra retouching, if needed.

It is exciting when family from near and far come together for a wedding!  Yes, I am happy to photograph larger groups. But I'm also here to capture photos for you. Long lists of family portraits take up time you could be celebrating, limiting my ability to photograph your love story. Consider if these are the images you imagine in your final wedding album?  If these photos are for mom and dad, is it possible a family member or friend could take the reunion / holiday cards photos so we can continue documenting the natural flow of the day?  Also, adding a second photographer to your collection is a great option.
