Every farm weddings has its own flavor. Having known about Eric and his creativity for several years before his wedding day, I wasn't surprised when he crafted his parents homestead in northern Minnesota into the most beautiful private wedding for his bride-to-be, Kathryn. From forging a path in the woods to the ceremony site, to custom wedding arches to outhouses with flushing toilets, Eric thought of everything!  At the reception, a hot buffet meal of pig roasts and other homemade hot dishes awaited cold guests on an unexpectedly cooler July day.  All of the hard work that went into the details paid off in the end as the evening air was filled with the sound of laughter, folk music and lively conversation.

Kathryn and Eric are the most kindhearted, loving people you'll ever meet. Their smiles are infectious and love for life overflows into the lives of their friends and family. It was no small celebration with a show of over 400 friends and family as far away Brandon, Manitoba, Canada (Kathryn's hometown) and a bridal party of 14, along with 16 children.

Eric and Kathryn, from the bottom of my heart... thank you.  It was an honor to be part of such an important day. I've enjoyed getting to know you and look forward to the post-wedding coffee we talked about during bridal party pictures, Kathryn! What else can I say?  You two are simply perfect together.

From the Bride & Groom:

"We met 12 years ago at a lake cabin.  Eric was working with relatives while Kathryn went to visit her brother who was working on some cabins.  Although there was interest at first sight it was not until 12 years later when Kathryn asked for a motorcycle ride that a relationship started.  Eric waited patiently for Kathryn and when she finally asked for that ride did he gain the boldness to pursue her.  Falling in love came fast and easy as did their friendship which had a solid base in their shared faith in Christ.  It was evident to both of them that the Lord had created them for each other.  8 months after becoming 'official' Eric proposed.  On a family ski trip to Montana between the mountain pass and top of Mount Tolman that Eric proposed on a snowy mountain clearing.  Kathryn said... yes!"
