They went to school in a rural northern Minnesota, right on the Canada - USA border.  Jesse + Karla began dating in 9th grade, and 11 years later, Jesse surprised Karla with an engagement ring after climbing to the top of wind tower he was working on in California.  Jesse+ Karla would return to childhood stomping grounds in Birchdale, MN for their outdoor wedding day.

Surrounded by hundreds of friends and local family they pledge their love (and not without dry eyes) at the river's edge for a post thunderstorm ceremony, and later, guests would gather at the Birchdale community center for a homemade buffet dinner including tractor rides for the kids, S'mores-in-a-bag and outdoor games before another torrential rain pour would douse the reception ground. But the party lasted into the wee hours as Minnesota's own country rock band, The Chris Brooks & the Silver City Boys kept guests dancing all night!

I must confess.  I Iove a bride who doesn't mind waltzing through fields non-nonchalantly shaking the tiny crickets tuck inside the tulle of her dress.  And I a groom who, after 11 years, is still so absolutely smitten by his beautiful bride!

Jesse + Karla, could you just get married every weekend?!  Seriously, though: THANK YOU. Photographing your wedding was a HUGE honor.  Thank you for the opportunity to get to know you both.  Amazing things are in store for you!

Much love,
